As an acupuncture billing service we transmit thousands of insurance claims to Aetna on any given week. This year, Aetna is in the process of changing its provider policy to send only electronic payments. This will affect all practitioners who receive paper check payments. So, you must enroll in an electronic payment option by May 1, 2017.
As an acupuncture billing company we recommend that you enroll in their electronic funds transfer (EFT) as soon as possible. EFT is a secure, direct deposit into your bank account, like direct deposit for paychecks or tax refunds. Do not wait until May 1 to enroll in EFT. To sign up for EFT here are a few easy enrollment methods:
- Enrollhub This is a CAQH solution and can be accessed here: EnrollHub. (Even if you're an existing CAQH user, you'll need to register separately for the tool.)
- NaviNet Sign up for EFT email notifications via NaviNet. Register here: NaviNet. They’ll send you an email whenever they transmit a payment.
- Online Enrollment Form You can also download Aetna's online form and fax or email it back to them. Here is the form: Aetna Online Form
If you need help with any of these methods you can contact Aetna directly by emailing them here: Email Aetna
