The Google Update
Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21, Google is making a major update to its mobile search algorithm that will change the order in which websites such as acupuncturists or acupuncture insurance billing are ranked when users search for something from their phone or tablet. The Google search update will favor mobile-friendly websites, ranking them higher in their search listings. Websites that aren't mobile-friendly will get demoted. This is especially important to acupuncture practices that rely heavily on a web presence for prospective patients.
Google announced these changes in their search algorithm back in February and the update is expected to cause a major ranking shake-up. Recent statistics show that 60% of online traffic now comes from mobile devices and that figure is growing fast!
