Personal Appearance for Remote Workforce
At NCG Medical, personal appearance reflects professionalism and impacts how customers, partners, and colleagues perceive our company. This applies to all employees, including those working remotely, especially during virtual meetings or interactions representing NCG Medical.
General Appearance Guidelines
You are expected to maintain a clean, well-groomed, and professional appearance during business hours or whenever you represent NCG Medical. This includes dressing appropriately for virtual meetings with customers, partners, or company gatherings. Your workspace, visible during video calls, should also be tidy and free of distractions. Drinking or smoking during virtual meetings is prohibited.
If your supervisor finds that your appearance or clothing is inappropriate, you may be asked to adjust accordingly. For in-person interactions, this may require leaving work to return appropriately dressed, and this time away from work will be unpaid.
Reasonable accommodations will be made for employees with disabilities in adherence to this policy. If you have any questions about appropriate appearance or accommodations, please contact your supervisor or Human Resources.
Hygiene and Grooming Standards
- Mustaches and beards must be clean, well-trimmed, and neat.
- Hairstyles should be professional and in good taste.
- Excessive makeup is not permitted.
- Offensive body odor or poor personal hygiene is not acceptable.
- Perfumes, colognes, and aftershaves should be used sparingly to avoid sensitivity issues.
- Jewelry should not be excessive, restrictive, or dangerous to job performance.
- Business Casual Attire
While NCG Medical allows for a degree of personal style, clothing during work hours must align with professional standards. Clothing should be clean, neat, and appropriate for a business environment, even when working remotely. If you are unsure, consult your supervisor.
Examples of Acceptable Business Casual Attire:
- Slacks
- Sweaters
- Jeans (clean and in good condition)
- Loafers or flats
- Company-approved medical scrubs
- Casual dresses and skirts
- Deck shoes, clean athletic shoes, or boots

- Spandex or form-fitting pants
- Sweatpants or jogging suits
- T-shirts or tank tops
- Sweatshirts

Business Attire Expectations
While casual attire is acceptable for most workdays, employees may be required to wear business attire during specific events or meetings, such as when prospects, partners, or clients are present (virtually or in-person).
Flexibility for Remote Work
For remote employees, casual dress codes allow for comfort and practicality. However, maintain a professional appearance for all virtual engagements, as this reflects NCG Medical standards.
If you have questions about the dress code or specific occasions requiring business attire, consult your supervisor.
