NCG Medical's Company Birthday Policy

At NCG Medical, we believe in celebrating the personal milestones of our employees as part of our commitment to fostering a supportive and positive work environment. Recognizing birthdays is one way we aim to show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our team members.

Policy:
Each full-time employee is entitled to one day off each year to celebrate their birthday. This day off is a paid leave day, provided as an additional benefit to our standard leave entitlements.

Procedure:

1. Scheduling Leave:

  • Employees are eligible to take off on their birthday each year.
  • If an employee’s birthday falls on a weekend, the employee is entitled to take the preceding Friday off.
  • If an employee’s birthday falls on a company-recognized holiday, the employee is entitled to take the preceding Friday off.
  • Employees are encouraged to schedule their birthday leave in advance to ensure smooth workflow management within their team. This should be done through the normal channels for requesting leave, as outlined in the leave policy.

2. Notification:

  • Employees should notify their direct supervisor and the HR department at least two weeks before their intended birthday leave day. This allows managers to plan accordingly and ensure that all responsibilities are covered.

3. Leave Approval:

  • Birthday leave is automatically approved and does not count against other leave balances. However, notification and scheduling are still required for administrative purposes.
  • In exceptional circumstances where business needs cannot accommodate an employee taking leave on their birthday or the preceding Friday (if the birthday falls on a weekend), alternative arrangements can be discussed with the employee. This may include choosing another day for leave.
